Registration is closed
Posters Please submit your poster applications via the registration form. Deadline is 28th February 2014.
Annual Meeting 7-10th April 2014 at MRI.
Icebreaker The icebreaker is on 7th April 2014 at MRI.
Conference Dinner The conference dinner will take place on 9th April 2014 in the restaurant I冒n贸.
Workshops/Panels There are several options for workshops/panel meetings during the meeting: 7th April 2014 noon til afternoon, 8th April 2014 evening and 10th April 2014 afternoon. These workshops are intended to help you to discuss objectives and planned work for the final period of the project. If you participate in one of the workshops, please plan your travels accordingly.

The meeting agenda can be viewed here: Meeting Agenda. For the workshops and panel meetings, the following options are still available (as of 17 Mar 2014):
 

  • Monday, 07 April 2014, 12:00-17:00, 1 room/10 people & 1 room/15-20 people
  • Tuesday, 08 April 2014, from 17:00 (all rooms are booked)
  • Thursday, 10 April 2014, 14:00-17:00, auditorium & 1 room/10 people & 1 room/15-20 people

 

Registration

Registration is closed. Please contact the project office for further inquiries. Be aware, that there is a meeting fee of 60 Euro/person (to be paid in Euro).

 

Posters

We encourage all CARBOCHANGE partners to present their project-related research. There will be the opportunity to show posters during the meeting. Poster boards are 96 cm wide and 150 cm high and will need to be reserved 2-4 weeks prior to the meeting, why the deadline for poster applications is 28th February 2014.

 

Meeting venue

The next Annual Meeting of CARBOCHANGE will be hosted by our project partner in Iceland (MRI-UI) and will take place at the Marine Research Institute, Sk煤lagata 4, 101 Reykjavik. The icebreaker reception and coffee breaks will be held in the information center adjacent to the main auditorium at the MRI. Lunches will take place across the street at the Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre, Austurbakki 2, 101 Reykjav铆k. The conference dinner will take place on 9th April in the restaurant I冒n贸, Vonarstr忙ti 3, 101 Reykjavik.

 

Travel

Iceland鈥檚 international airport is Keflav铆k Airport (KEF). There is a wide selection of international flights to Iceland, i.e. Icelandair, EasyJet, SAS, WOW Air, a list of which can be found here. Regarding custom鈥檚 regulations, please have a look at the following website: Customs. Transport from/to airport: The Flybus operates in connection with all arriving and departing flights at Keflav铆k Airport and your seat is always guaranteed. The Flybus departs from Keflav铆k Airport 35-40 minutes after each flight arrival. The buses are located right outside the terminal building and will take you to the BSI Bus Terminal in Reykjav铆k, Vatnsm媒rarvegur 10, 101 Reykjav铆k. The journey will take approx. 45 min. Visa

Have a look at the following website to find out if you need to apply for a visum: Need a visum?. Even if you do not need to apply for a visum, make sure that your passport/ID card is valid for at least 3 months beyond your visit.

 

Currency

The Icelandic kr贸na (ISK) is the currency in Iceland. Money can be withdrawn from cash machines, e.g. at the airport.

 

Accommodation

All CARBOCHANGE partners need to arrange for their own accommodation. Here, we list a few examples of recommended hotels that are within 5-10 minutes walking distance from the meeting venue:
